Last chance to join our tour hosted by Gardens Illustrated editor Juliet Roberts and plantsman John Hoyland to the gardens of Paris and Île de France, including a visit to the Journées des Plantes plant fair at Château de Courson.
On
our French excursion we take you from the grand public parks and châteaux, to
the hidden corners of Paris rich in gardens, discover exuberant potagers,
consider the works of contemporary garden designers, as well as visits to the
private gardens of Judith Pillsbury (owner of Nicole de Vésian’s Provencal
garden) and Mark Rudkin (landscape architect). We capture the charm of the
gardens, learn about their history and get to understand their design. PLUS
we’ll visit the highlight of the French gardening calendar, Courson’s plant fair
Journées des Plantes held in the château’s
grounds.
The
tour is based at the 4* Hôtel du Panthéon in Paris and Hôtel les
Pléiades in Barbizon in the forest of
Fontainebleau – once the retreat of artists, now a peaceful base for this
special garden tour.
